Throughout the centuries there have been sightings of strange objects in the skies of earth which, in modern times, we identify as Flying Saucers or UFOs. The main questions in most people's minds are "Where do they come from?" and "Why are they here?" The Aetherius Society, through the advanced Yogic mediumship of its Founder Dr. George King, has answers to these and many other questions. Western Master of Yoga, Dr George King Dr. King was born in Wellington, England on January 23rd, 1919 - a child of unusual destiny. When young, he performed outstanding feats of healing. After the Second World War he began to practise yoga, quickly gaining some of the deeper mystic states. By the age of 35 he was an accomplished healer, psychic and yogi adept. It was then that he received his first cosmic contact from a Being with the pseudonym of Aetherius Who said:
Through continued practice of the deep mystical state ancient Yogis called Samadhi he gained such an advanced level of self-development that he could be used by advanced intelligences from other worlds as a channel for their vital spiritual message. Over 600 such messages covering all aspects of life were received through Dr. King and have been recorded on magnetic tape for posterity. The Aetherius Society was founded to propagate these teachings from Cosmic Beings which will, if practised, lead mankind into a new age of peace and enlightenment. The growing acceptance of UFOs has been greatly influenced by the many campaigns launched by The Aetherius Society since the 1950s. We have been approached by the United Nations and representatives of the British Government in our capacity as a "leading world authority" on the subject of UFOs.  Forecasts
of UFO activityIn the 1950s and 1960s, intelligences speaking through Dr. King gave forecasts of where UFO activity would occur in various parts of the world. These forecasts were later confirmed by independent reports in the world's press. On April 18th, 1958, it was revealed through Dr King by extra-terrestrial sources that a serious nuclear accident had occurred in Russia in which hundreds of lives had been lost and thousands more injured. This information was published in The Aetherius Society's official magazine "Cosmic Voice", Issue 16, June-July, 1958 and in the book "You Are Responsible!" published in May, 1961. Eighteen years later, in November 1976, this incident was confirmed by exiled Soviet scientist, Dr. Zhores Medvedev, when he revealed to the Western world that a serious atomic accident had occurred in the Ural Mountains in Russia in April, 1958. The international media broadcast this to a shocked world and "New Scientist" magazine published an interview with Dr. Medvedev concerning this accident. The Aetherius Society contacted them and told them about Dr. King's contact in April, 1958, and took a copy of our publication to their offices in London. After examining this indisputable evidence the magazine published a further article admitting that they had been "Scooped by a UFO." ("Scooped by a UFO." New Scientist 78 (1978): 241.) A Resolution Presented to The United Nations In 1978, an Aetherius Society representative went to New York to to assist in an advisory capacity in preliminary discussions with a committee of experts from around the world. This committee, led by Sir Eric Gairey (then Prime Minister of Grenada) met to formulate a resolution which was eventually presented to the General Assembly of The United Nations: "To discover the origin, nature and intent of UFOs." Also on the committee were Gordon Cooper (the Gemini 5 astronaut) and Dr. J. Allen Hynek, to name just two experts in their particular fields. Gordon Cooper, along with some other astronauts, reported sightings of UFOs "buzzing" the capsule. Some reports have given extraordinary accounts of spacecraft actually being seen on the Moon during the expeditions. Dr. Hynek was advisor to director Steven Spielberg on the popular film "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" which, although portrayed as fiction, contained incidents similar to those people have reported as being true experiences. Cosmic Teachings from Other Worlds Since the passing of Dr. George King in 1997, The Aetherius Society is now the custodian of a vast library of hundreds of Cosmic messages containing information about our world and beyond.
